When Xitsunduxo Baloyi completed the Digital Citizenry Pathway, she created a useful bridge into uncharted territory within her vast potential. Ms Baloyi, a diligent student, and keen digital citizen, Xitsunduxo, found the Entering the World of Work, Coping with Change and Adaptability and Flexibility courses most useful.

In this age of information, digital citizens are those who embrace technological advancements in their career development. Where thinking global while acting local is encouraged, the job market among others seems to emphasise the development of digital citizens. Dictionary.com defines a digital citizen as “a person who develops the skills and knowledge to effectively use the internet and other digital technology, especially in order to participate responsibly in social and civic activities” (Dictionary.com, LLC, 2022).

At Chartall Business College, we are passionate about facilitating skills for digital citizenry. We love working with students, like Ms. Baloyi, who understand the value of 21st-century skills in their endeavors to remain relevant and fulfill their growth potential. We are so proud of all our Short Course Faculty students.

The digital citizenry pathway is a bespoke learning solution that supports new entrants to the world of work. Even students who are changing careers may find these skills useful at any stage of their work cycle. The programme includes the basics of MS Office, Innovation, and LinkedIn for Business. The pathway invites the avid student to sharpen their introspection – while they are typically faced with life-changing decisions and opportunities. The pathway builds digital literacy skills too, making it a well-rounded, robust programme for those students who are keen to take on the world as digital citizens.
