In 2008 the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) made it mandatory that all agents who were registered with it on 15 June 2008 must acquire a full qualification by 30 June 2015. This qualification covers all the required sales, marketing, ethical, legal and financial skills necessary to sell, lease and market real estate in South Africa.
It is the first step in fulfilling the EAAB’s legal requirements (the other requirements for existing non-principal agents as of 15 June 2008 are the passing of the Professional Designation Exam [PDE] within two years of earning the full qualification and ongoing Continuing Professional Development). Agents who entered the profession more recently are required to complete a full 12-month internship and a logbook in addition to completing the qualification and writing the PDE.
The blended training option allows for a combination of online learning and live-time sessions with an e-facilitator or in a face-to-face setting. These will be run for group sizes of 10 or more learners.
