The FET Certificate: Accounting Technician introduces you to accounting skills and tasks such as maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns. This qualification which is at an NQF Level 4 progresses from the Accounting Technician qualification at NQF Level 3.
The level 4 qualification is for aspiring bookkeepers who have some experience and building blocks under their belt.
The AT(SA) qualification has been internationally benchmarked against a global standard and quality assured by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
Note: Price includes ATSA entrance fee, membership fee and one exam per subject. Textbook fees are included.
Exam rewrites will be charged per subject (maximum of three rewrites allowed or the subject will need to be repeated).

Is this accredited?
The FETC: Accounting Technician NQF Level 4 is accredited with SAQA ID 77143.
Is this Unit Standard aligned?
The qualification is made up of subjects
Do I write tests/exams?
Learners will write exams for each subject in an invigilated environment. Two re-writes are available at an additional fee, thereafter the subject would need to be repeated.
Must I submit a Portfolio of Evidence?
There is no portfolio of evidence. The subject is made up of formative tests and a final exam.
Can I earn exemptions?
Exemptions need to be applied for through AT(SA) directly. Once the exemptions have been granted you can present these to Chartall and we will apply them.
Is it available via RPL?
Currently, this qualification is only offered through full online training.
Do I need to be employed to enrol?
Work experience will provide an advantage but is not a necessity for this qualification.
Is this a fully online course?
Yes, the course is trained online through a combination of e-learning, resources, e-lectures and live e-tutorials.
The examinations will be held face-to-face in an invigilated environment.
Do you offer a blended learning option?
Blended options are available as part of our corporate training and development solutions.
Do I need the internet access for this course?
Yes, you do need internet access. A PC or tablet with sufficient connectivity to download learning materials and view videos.
A matric certificate is required. The learner must be numerate and able to complete formal assessments in English. This qualification ideally follows on from the Accounting Technician Certificate (NQF Level 3).
