The Property and Real Estate Industry is a multi-billion-rand sector which requires professionals who are well-trained and knowledgeable to meet the property and real estate needs of both the residential and non-residential sectors. The Real Estate Agent guides and facilitates the general public in the buying, selling, letting, financing and managing of immovable property and businesses in the best interest of all parties. This qualification strives to equip learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate effectively and efficiently in the Property and Real Estate sector.
This qualification will enable a learner with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attributes to:
- Identify the property and real estate environment and ensure compliance with the legislative and regulatory framework.
- Apply code of conduct and adhere to ethical business principles.
- Develop relationships with an internal and / or external client database for provision of property and real estate services.
- Build brand reputation and develop a target market.
- Manage the property and real estate function.
- Apply business principles to the property and real estate function.
This programme covers all the QCTO specified knowledge, as well as the practical and workplace components of the national curriculum, as developed and accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). The qualification is also a pre-requisite for admission to the professional designation examination to be conducted by the regulatory authority.
Please note that successful completion of this programme is subject to passing the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA)* as well as a compulsory work experience component.
