Traditionally facilitation has taken place in a brick and mortar classrooms, but increasingly facilitators are required to conduct training online using a variety of methods and platforms.
This short course has been designed to address both classroom and online facilitation methodologies, thereby making it an excellent choice for facilitators who plan to use multiple methods of delivery to convey their message.

Is this qualification for me?
Facilitation is a complex process intended to impart knowledge and understanding. Good facilitators need to know how to read a target audience and plan their facilitation approach accordingly. They also need to design suitable activities and manage classroom dynamics.
How is this qualification delivered?
This qualification is offered through online learning. (Note that face-to-face training is also offered at selected workplaces. You can request f2f training here).
What are the entry requirements?
Facilitators must typically have subject matter expertise in at least one subject area. The credit calculation is based on the assumption that learners are already competent in the learning area in which they intend to provide training.
Ideally, candidate facilitators should also have obtained the assessor unit standard (115753).
In addition, student facilitators should have some knowledge of the outcomes-based training and SETA environment.
Prospective students also need a good command of English (reading and writing) so that they can analyse and interpret the relevant outcomes (all of which are written in English).
Student facilitators must also have access to a group of learners so that they can demonstrate their facilitation skills practically for their assessor. They will also need the tools to record themselves conducting this facilitation exercise.
You should also be computer-literate, with access to Wifi and a PC.
Is this qualification accredited?
Yes, successful students will be awarded a Statement of Results from the ETDP SETA.
